Terms of Service
By creating a CallShield account or using the service, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they describe what CallShield does, what it does not guarantee, and what we expect from you in return.
What the product does
CallShield assigns your parent's phone to a dedicated CallShield number that routes each incoming call through a real-time AI detection pipeline before forwarding to the protected phone. While a call is in progress, CallShield streams audio to the AI scorer, which writes a transcript, computes a risk score on a 0–100 scale, and (when warranted) flags the call on your caregiver dashboard or sends the caller to voicemail. You manage a Trusted Contacts whitelist so that known family, doctors, and friends ring straight through without screening.
What the product does NOT guarantee
CallShield is an assistive tool, not a guarantee.
- We do not guarantee that every scam call will be detected. Some calls will reach your parent's phone even with the service active.
- We do not guarantee zero false positives. Legitimate calls may occasionally be flagged, delayed, or sent to voicemail.
- The service is best-effort. Detection accuracy depends on the caller's tactics, the protected line's audio quality, and an evolving catalog of scam patterns. No AI classifies calls perfectly.
- Caregivers retain primary responsibility for the safety of the protected person. CallShield is one tool among many, not a replacement for caregiver judgment, call-screening habits, or other protective measures.
Account-holder responsibilities
When you register a parent's phone line through CallShield, you affirm that you have the consent of the protected person (or their legal guardian) to monitor inbound calls on that line. CallShield is intended for use by family caregivers on phone lines they (or the protected person) own. You agree to keep consent current and to remove a line from CallShield if that consent is revoked.
Plans, billing, and cancellation
CallShield is sold as a subscription. Billed through Stripe. No long-term contracts.
- Monthly — $19 per month for one protected line.
- Annual — $149 per year for one protected line. Saves roughly the cost of two months versus the monthly plan.
- Family — $29 per month covering two protected lines on one dashboard; billed as a single Stripe subscription (not per seat).
You can cancel any time from the Dashboard — go to the Subscription section and click Cancel subscription. Cancellation is effective immediately and you will not be charged again; no refund is issued for the unused portion of the current billing period.
Refunds
All subscription fees are non-refundable. Monthly fees are non-refundable for the current billing period. For Annual plans, fees are non-refundable and the subscription runs through the end of the year you have paid for; no pro-rata refund or credit is issued if you cancel early. If you believe a charge is wrong, contact [email protected] and we will review it.
Availability
CallShield is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee 100% uptime, and we are not liable for missed scam-call detections or caregiver notifications during an outage, scheduled maintenance, or a third-party service interruption (telephony carrier, transcription vendor, or AI provider).
Acceptable use
When using CallShield you agree that you will not:
